Need for Madness

Pick a car and a stage.

Stage

Two-player (experimental)

Peer to peer over WebRTC, no server of ours involved. One of you hosts and reads out the room code; the other joins with it. The host's car, stage and opponents are used for both. Lockstep, so a bad connection shows up as both cars pausing together rather than as teleporting.

You pick the stage and cars above.
Your car choice is kept; everything else comes from the host.
Advanced & developer settings
Rendering
Backing store scale. Game space is always 800×450.
Timing
530ms per 10 frames. Changing this changes game speed.
On by default. Turning it off renders only on ticks, which pins the game to 18.9fps.
0 = uncapped. Pinned to 18.9 without interpolation.
Probes ./ then ../ when empty.
Audio
0-100. Engine, crashes, skids.
0-100, scaling the track's own per-stage volume.
Audio needs a key press first — browsers block sound until then.
Benchmark
Averages, then freezes. R reruns.
Diagnostic stubs

Draw calls still happen but the work is discarded, so the caller still pays for projection. The screen goes blank — stopwatches, not rendering modes.
